Of course it didn't go as planned. This time it was high tide instead of low tide so instead of putting our "camp" on flat sand near the water, we had to put it in the deep stuff right by our car. Which means we were set up about 4 ft from the edge of the road and the water was right on the far side of the road so the kids were constantly running out into the "street" to get to the water - not a relaxing scenario for us or them! (About 50 yds down the beach from us a 4 yr-old girl ran into a truck and was taken to the hospital. Thankfully she was fine and yes, you read that right - she ran into the truck, not the other way around)
Between the tide and effects of tropical storm Emily the waves were much bigger and there was a pretty intense rip current. These pictures are in the exact same spot as last weekend!
We did have sunscreen, a cooler full of food and drinks and a good camera this time, though. But apparently we do better when we're flexible and just go-with-the-flow then when we try to plan ahead!
(Caiden & Kellen - who were being all kinds of cute until I pulled the camera out!)
