Haag Happenings: Still Here

We're still here. Trudging through these killer hot August days. Caiden and Rylan start preschool next week and we're all counting down with great anticipation!

Life has been its normal busy, constant flow. Logan keeps checking off classes, getting A's and working his way toward the end of his program (it's looking like he'll be done March 2013). The kids all took swim lessons at the end of July and all really enjoyed it. (I have no pictures of it because juggling 4 small kids at swim lessons does not exactly lend itself well to picture taking!)

Caiden can kinda swim freestyle - he does great with his arms, can't side-breath yet, but it all starts to fall apart when he adds in the kicking too. Rylan's main goal was to learn how to swim for a bit, pop up for a breath, then keep swimming. She's getting there but it's hard to convince her to come up for air until she decides she's gotten where she wants to go. Kellen and Toben did great and are loving the water. They're working on learning how to kick when we point them back toward the side, how to grab on and pull themselves out and how to climb out when they get to the stairs. Everyone also did a lot of work learning how to float on their backs.

I had a preterm labor scare last week (just shy of 29 weeks). Thankfully I was able to go in and get it checked out right away. It looks like my body was probably starting to work on something but we were able to catch it early and stop things before they progressed too far. We're attempting to make the necessary adjustments for me to be able to lift as little as possible and sit/lay down as often as possible per doctor's orders to hopefully keep this little guy in for another 2 months! That sounds like an eternity right now, but thankfully fall is coming and with it more routine and cooler temperatures :)
