Diego's Dino Dig at Dusk

A little boy on our street had a birthday party that Caiden and Rylan were invited to and hands down it was the best kid's birthday party I've ever seen!  The mom is super creative and artistically talented and pulled off an amazing party that was also incredibly well suited to the 2-5 year old guests.

Walking through the dinasour's mouth to enter their front door (dino roars and noises were playing as we went through.)

The party started with a video and box from Diego inviting everyone to go on a dino adventure.

Each child got a vest and rescue pack full of supplies they would need for each station.

As they lined up to go outside Caiden loudly proclaimed, "This is the best party ever!!"  (He shouted similar statements throughout the rest of the night)

First on the agenda was fueling up.  Great kid-friendly dinner - PB&J sandwiches cut into dinosaurs, lots of cut up fruits and veggies, water and juice boxes.

Then the kids were divided into small groups and rotated through each of the adventure stations.  We dug for fossils, played memory, explored the bubble fountain, sifted for shells, and busted open eggs to find baby dinosaurs inside.

At the end of each rotation the kids marked the map in their field journals with a stamp.

Three dino egg pinatas

Then it was time for cake and ice.  Caiden was super impressed with this cake (as was everyone!)

On the way home Caiden asked if he could have the exact same birthday party except for one difference - he would like to get presents (Oliver had everyone donate to an organization instead of bringing presents)

Guess we need to work on our obsession with presents and he may need to find a more creatively inclined mom :)
