Christmas Day

This Christmas was my only Christmas except for maybe two when I was really little that I didn't spend in Colorado :( It was weird to look out the window onto the 70 degree day and palm trees and think that it was Christmas but it was great to be able to spend it in our new home.

My parents' and sister came down Christmas Eve and stayed with us until New Year's Eve. It was fun having family around and the kids LOVED all the extra playmates!

Christmas morning we got up and first thing we had the kids pick gifts out of the Compassion catalog to give to Jesus for his birthday. I'm sure they'll understand the concept more as they get older, but Caiden was still excited about his goat. After a cinnamon roll breakfast we started opening gifts.

(this is what Caiden does when you ask him to show you what he got)

(Rylan saying "cheese")

Rylan wasn't feeling well and made it through the gifts for awhile but then ended up going back to bed and sleeping on and off for the rest of the day. Poor girl!

Caiden got a scooter and his big present from us was a new bike. The awesome thing about Christmas in Florida is you can go right outside and try out all your new toys! After a delicious lunch and some naps we took a walk around the neighborhood and Caiden was surprisingly good at his scooter!

(Caiden saying "cheese" - they must be teaching each other)

Caiden LOVED his chainsaw from Oma and Opa and had to get outside right away to "do some trimming"!

Merry Christmas from the Haag's!
