Memorial Day

Thankfully since we got all our moving stuff done on Sunday we were able to enjoy a day off for Memorial Day. The weather was beautiful and we had a great time playing in the water and BBQing with some good friends.

I met Mandy in 7th grade and we all met Dave in high school. Dave and Logan played in a band together and we've all been friends with each other for over 10 years - before any of us even started dating

Their daughter, Avery, is 3 months older than Caiden and their daughter, Ashton, is 2 weeks older than Rylan. I never would have guessed we'd still be BBQing together, now with little ones running around, when we first met all those years ago!

We don't hang out all that often and many times go months in between seeing each other, but they're those friends that you always seem to pick up where you left off. It's hard to believe that we won't be close enough to stop by their house anymore or to go on fun "kid-less" dates and that it might be a long time before we get to meet their little boy who's due in September. Hopefully we can entice them to come visit us! Orlando's a great place to go on vacation ;)

Too hard to think about those things now, so back to Memorial Day!

The Houles' have the hookup on outdoor water toys and the kids' had a blast playing in the pool, running through sprinkles, blowing bubbles and we even tried the Slip n' Slide (I say "tried" - having a hill or being able to run and slide seem to be essential to actually using a Slip n' Slide)
