4th of July

We were excited to get to spend the 4th of July with some old friends of ours, Dave and Mandy.  We've all known each since long before anyone started dating and have enjoyed many 4th of July's together over the years (usually with a big group of fun friends).

July 4, 2002

It's hard to believe there are now 7 kids between our two families but we still had a fun day (though a less carefree kind of fun than we used to)

         

It was a hot day and the kids spent most of it running around in swimsuits and playing the water (though I apparently only got pictures of them eating!)

It was fun to get to see Avery and Caiden play together and they have clearly enjoy each other.  For two strong, first born personalities it was neat to see them mesh so well.

Ashton and Rylan were born 3 weeks apart and despite how close they are in age, for the most part they don't seem to notice each other much :)

Alternating lines on our flag cake and discussing who is doing theirs straighter and quicker while also throwing in lots of compliments and encouragement to each other - hilarious!

I didn't get any pictures with Kellen and Toben or the adults, but it was pretty chaotic when everyone was awake :)


Unfortunately due to all the recent fires there was a ban on any fireworks, but that means we got to put the kids to bed and enjoy some peaceful adult conversation out on the deck.
